On 14/2/1998 Boris won Best of Breed at the Classic Dog Show in Melbourne and became the first Schnauzer to gain the Australian Grand Champion Title.

Boris was a very loyal and intelligent and he quickly outclassed many other dogs in the show and obedience rings. He is very missed after passing away on 8 August 2007 at the age of sixteen and half.

  • Titled at 10 1/2 months.
  • Now has over 1,200 Challenge points with numerous Best of Breed wins.
  • Winner of Baby Puppy in Group. Multi winner of Puppy, Junior, Intermediate and Open Classes in Group and Best In Group. Multi winner of Puppy and Junior Classes in Show.
  • Winner of Puppy Sweepstakes, VCA Guineas and Runner up in Group.
  • In 1998 he was Runner Up Best of Breed at Adelaide Royal Show.
  • In 1999 he won Dog Challenge and Runner Up Best of Breed at Melbourne Royal Show.
  • In 1999 he also won Veteran in Show at the Schnauzer Club of Victoria Championship Show.
  • He then took out several Veteran Classes at All Breeds Championship Shows .
  • His Last Show was Veteran in Show over 10yrs at the Show where he started Bacchus Marsh All Breeds Championship Show in 2005.


OBEDIENCE

  • Multi Novice Obedience Class winner.
  • Gained Companion Dog Title.


SIRE

  • His sons and daughters have achieved numerous challenge and best of breed wins, multi class in group and class in show also Best Exhibit In Group and Class In Show winners.
  • Sons and daughters are also successful in Obedience, Agility and Endurance and also has titled grand children.

Feb 2006, Lucas was bitten by a copperhead snake that nearly cost him his life. It took him several months to recover. He then came back into the show ring to become the first Victorian Bread Schnauzer Grand Champion in Australia.

In July he started obedience training with a goal of Novice Dog at 2006 Melbourne Royal. Competing in a couple of CCD classes for practice purposes, he gained 81, 78, and 79 points out of 100.

He then went into the Melbourne Royal competing in the show ring with a win in Open Dog. Two days later competing in Obedience Novice Dog for the first time he gained 174 points with a qualifying score and second place in the class by one point, he then went on to gain his CD Title.

During his show career Lucas has had Baby Puppy, Minor Puppy, Puppy, Intermediate and Open Group Awards, A Melbourne Royal Challenge Runner Up Best of Breed in 2003 and Puppy of Breed at 2001 Melbourne Royal he also has a pass in his HIT in Herding and has gained his Endurance Title.

Lucas was top Schnauzer of the year in the Utility Dog Club of Victoria in 2006.

He is still completing in Open Dog in the Obedience.
